Our Story

In 2013, Dmitri Ignakov and Ilija Jovanovic read an IEEE Spectrum article detailing the diaries of the robot operators at the damaged Fukushima plant. Dmitri and Ilija discovered that the challenges faced by these operators wasn’t with regards to the physical aspects of the robots, but with how they were controlled.

They set out to make the controls more intuitive and better suited to unpredictable environments by emphasizing human-centric over machine-centric interfaces. This led them to found Taiga Robotics and meld the capabilities of robots and people by enhancing our ability to communicate intent to machines.
